I had a wonderfully sunny shoot at the rather dramatic rapids at Koitelinkoski on Monday evening with these beautiful ladies and their charming family. Here's a sneak peak of their shoot!
I am a lifestyle photographer. This is a relatively new term in photography and I know that while a fair few of you may have heard the term before...you might not entirely understand what it is.
A lifestyle photographer works in 'real' situations as opposed to working in a studio. A lifestyle photographer looks to capture natural moments as they happen as opposed to staging poses and situations.
This doesn't mean I don't work like a studio photographer in terms of lighting and setting and the quality of the images I produce. Every time I press the shutter I am considering the position of everyone and the way the sunshine illuminates your faces.
A session with me is about capturing the reactions and relationships within your family. Real smiles, real feelings and real love.

A sunny love story for this sunny Sunday.
Last Sunday evening the sun shone perfectly for Päivi and Janne's Love Stories session near Oulujoki Church. <3

It's that time of year again when the sun starts to shine and climb that little bit higher in the sky every day. The snow is disappearing fast and I just want to get out with my camera and make the most of all that lovely light!
And so...I'm offering a limited number of special Mummy and Me Mini Sessions!

Get ready for a good old fashioned love story! <3
When I met Minna and James at Valkiaisjärvi for their Love Stories session I had no idea just how awesome their shoot was going to be. Boy, was I in for a wonderful surprise!

When I'm not photographing people I can frequently be found outside, in the middle of the night, with my camera staring at the sky waiting and hoping for a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
They're one of those beautiful natural phenomena that I know a lot of people have on their bucket list of things to see and I'm lucky enough to be able to see them from my own back garden, weather permitting of course.
Last night, in what might have been the last big display of the season as the days get longer and longer this far North, we saw some spectacular lights right over our house.

I had the first of my Love Stories shoots yesterday with Minna and James and it was awesome!
Apologies for the mammoth catch up post. With Easter and everything else the weeks and weekends especially just seemed to evaporate last month!
But here are the themes and photos that took the Little Leap 52 project through March.

Snowy Sunday - Family Photography

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to have a family photography session out in the lightly falling snow. At this time of year the light is coming back and with all that snow on the ground it makes for wonderfully bright photos, both indoors and outside.
It was a little windy so to start off we had some photos inside, catching some of those special moments families often share together and probably never take the chance to photograph.
