Little Leap 52 - Weeks 3 & 4

The weekly challenge continues with some more fun themes to round out January.


Week Three: In my cup

I was hope hope hoping that the temperatures would drop again when this theme came around. Another frozen activity you can try when the mercury falls far enough is to throw boiling water into the air. When we woke up this morning it was -26 with windchill taking it closer to -33 so seemed the perfect day to give it a go. Luckily my husband didn't mind doing the throwing so I could do the shooting. 

This photo was also chosen by a fellow participant (and secret judge!) as their favourite image of the week. Yay me! As a prize I got to choose a theme for next month which was all kinds of fun!

Week Four: Something old

This weekend we drove over to Hailuoto, a nearby island, via the 10km ice road over the frozen sea. Very exciting and more than a little nerve wracking! On the island are lots of these little barns dotted around, definitely old and something I wanted to try and capture. I was torn between this colour shot and a b&w version but I like the textures more in this colour shot so, this is the one you get to see! grin emoticon
